The Artist Studio is a connected guesthouse but completely separate from the main house. Once the studio of a prolific abstract artist, the space was converted to a studio apartment where guests enjoy a private entrance, soundproofed walls, fifteen foot ceilings, a little character and tons of sunlight.

The Studio and main house are completely private from the outside world, surrounded by a six foot concrete wall. French doors lead into a yard filled with many unique plants, trees and a heated, saltwater pool. Sound like an oasis? Yep. We thought so too.
The Studio is equipped with a full kitchen complete with all the cooking essentials for nights in (just add food) and a luxury bathroom with jetted bathtub, rain shower and all the accoutriments fit for a relaxing experience after a long, tiring day (at the beach).

Originally from Philadelphia, Lera and Barry now call Sarasota and the Gulf Coast home. Lucky for you (after searching relentlessly) they found the perfect Sarasota getaway, complete with a space to share with others – now called The Artist Studio. Lera is a Makeup Artist and Barry is a small business owner working from home.

We keep local events updated here as much as we can, so you know what’s happening in the area during your stay. Check back for updates regularly. You never know what will be going on.
The pool and yard are shared spaces as the studio is a guesthouse on our property - we live here full-time. We do not bother guests while they lounge outside and enjoy the pool area. You may however, see us in the yard attending to our plants, general cleanup of the pool in the mornings and evenings or even walking our dog around the property. We work to give our guests a lot of space and privacy.
We are NOT within walking distance to the beach. The closest beach (Lido Beach) is 3.5 miles.
The Artist Studio is best suited for children age 12 and up as there is no gate or fence around the pool and/or alarms on the doors leading from the studio into the yard. There are also numerous plants, cactus and trees that have some nasty thorns and branches that are not pleasant to the touch. This rule is non negotiable.
We do not charge a pet fee but if you bring a pet and do not tell us prior to arrival there is a $100 charge.
1. We ask that only responsible pet owners stay with us.
2. We do not charge a pet fee but if you are bringing a pet please let us know the breed and how many pets (and their names) you will bringing at the time of inquiry.
3. Two (2) dogs maximum (30lbs each). We do not allow cats.
4. Pet owners are responsible for their pets and any damages to the studio and/or property.
5. All pets are to be treated with a topical flea and tick repellent three (3) days prior to arrival. Fleas are rampant in this area and can cause harmful/fatal illness to humans and pets.
6. Pets are not allowed on the furniture at any time.
7. Guests should prevent pets from producing excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors.
8. Pets will not be left unattended for an undue length of time, either indoors or out.
9. No grooming / hair cutting of pets in the studio.
There is NO Washer / Dryer in the studio at this time but there is a 24hr laundromat within walking distance.
We require all guests to go through the Airbnb standard verification process to book with us. That includes a profile picture of your face. Not a picture of your dog. We will decline bookings if there is not proper verification/profile picture. This is for our own peace of mind and security.
